Who will be your instructor in both courses?


Dr. Jennifer Valcke is an Educational Developer at the Unit for Teaching and Learning (TL) at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm (Sweden). Her role includes teaching, training and advising on issues related to internationalisation of the curriculum, intercultural education and sustainable education, as well as English-Medium Education (EME). Dr. Valcke's team support and prepare teaching staff for the challenges of the multilingual and multicultural learning space. Previously, Dr. Valcke was a CLIL adviser and researcher at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Brussels. Born in Brussels of British and Belgian parents, Dr. Valcke has lived and studied in Nigeria, Belgium and Scotland. Fluent in French and English, currently learning Italian, Spanish, and Swedish. She moved to Stockholm in 2015 with her partner, two kids and a cute dog.

What is the first course I will take? In this bundle, the first course is Global Classrooms: Mastering the Art of Curriculum Internationalisation.

When does the first course start? The first course starts on Nov. 20, 2023.

When does the second course start? The second course, Teaching through English: Enhancing International University Instruction, starts on Dec. 15, 2023.

How long is each course? Each course is 20 hours long.

Do I have to study in two courses at the same time? No, you do not. You may finish the first course and then start the second. If you wish, you may access both courses at the same time.

How much time will I have to complete these two courses? You will have 12 weeks to complete both courses.

How are the courses delivered? The courses are delivered asynchroneously so you study when it is convenient for you within the course dates.

Will I have an option to talk to the instructor and other participants? Yes, there will be live meetings throughout both courses. You will also have a chance to work with peers and compare notes when doing activities.

Will there be a final exam? No, there are no exams at the end of these courses. There are, however, quizzes to assure your progress.

When do the courses end? Your access to the courses in this bundle ends on Feb.9, 2024.

Will I get a certificate? Yes, you will get proof of attendance for 40 hours of professional development work which is an equivalent to two full weeks of study and 1 ECTS.
